Join the Center and its partners for a fun-filled evening of star gazing!
Simply pack your snacks, bring a bit of curiosity and join us for an evening of delightful discoveries! If you have a telescope, please bring it along! Star Party leaders and their telescopes will remain on-site until 10:30 p.m. Rain/clouds date: Sunday, April 12, same time.
PROGRAM SCHEDULE:
- 7:00 P.M. – The Sky Tonight (Indoors)
Learn how to read a sky chart, how to use planetarium software and how to find useful information online about what is visible in the sky... with or without a telescope. - 8:00 P.M. - 10:30 P.M. Public Observing for All
See some of the wonders of the night sky through telescopes provided by members of the Astronomical Society of Harrisburg: Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, stars, nebulae and other “out of this world” sights.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive before sunset (around 8 p.m.), and are welcome to talk with astronomers as equipment is being set up. Bring an extra layer of clothing.
