Healthy streams are more than just clear water. The ideal stream has healthy land and vegetation around it too. Explore Penn State’s First Investigation of Stream Health (FISH) citizen science opportunity. Volunteers observe the plants and wildlife living in and around a stream to measure its changing health over time. This is especially important for seeing the first signs of success after a restoration project or stream side tree planting has been completed. Anyone can be a FISH observer.
